Self Reflection
I’ve noticed that several of the best leaders among my client base are meditators. They’re very self-reflective. They think about how they’re impacting other people. I’ve watched their EQ grow as they think about questions such as…
— How did the room respond to me?
— Where was I most in sync with others?
— What did I do or not do that may have caused a reaction I didn’t want?
— What calibration or assumptions did I have wrong?
— What was driving me to make those choices?
— What about my life is impacting the way I show up right now?
— What am I learning about myself through this process?
Such questions can make you a better leader, but they also can make you a better person. parent, spouse or friend. I’ve probably learned as much in self-reflection about being a parent and good husband as my growth as a professional.
